Cooperative Learning

 

 

I feel that collaboration in the classroom is a necessity.  Children need to be comfortable working with others.  In this picture, four children are working together to figure out whether or not the number presented to them is an odd number or an even number.  To do this, they are pairing up sets of Unifix Cubes.  By allowing them to work together, they can discuss their ideas before making a final decision.  Once they decide whether the number is odd or even, they are able to present their ideas to the class with confidence.
